Data provided for the environmental analyses of products

ecosystem has developed the only European database to assess the environmental impact of electrical and electronic equipment at end-of-life. Find 96 modelled materials classified according to the different flows treated, allowing you to measure the environmental impacts and benefits of your design choices.

Created to facilitate and encourage ecodesign, this database allows manufacturers to measure the environmental impacts of their electrical appliances’ end of life according to their composition.  Ecodesigning electrical appliances results, for example, in the development of equipment which is more easily recyclable. Thanks to this free accessible database, it is now possible to make effective material choices according to their impacts at end-of-life.

This tool is intended primarily for Life Cycle Analysis software (LCAs) users. Integrating this new information enables fast and reliable modelling which is representative of appliances’ end of life. Such data has been entered into leading life cycle analysis softwares including EIME, SimaPro…

To ensure good data representativity, ecosystem modelled the overall process of the equipment’s end-of-life based on field data collected from more than 50 WEEE decontamination and treatment facilities and took into account about fifteen disposal or recovery sectors.

This database alone accounts for more than 950 Life Cycle Inventories (LCI)

Data can be downloaded from “Life Cycle Data Network” (LCDN), the European platform developed by the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the research centre of the European Commission or from the dedicated ecosystem’s platform (link below).
