Data for modelling the environmental footprint of recycled plastic regenerated from WEEE

Data for modelling the environmental footprint of recycled plastic regenerated from WEEE

ecosystem has developed a database, unique in Europe, to assess the environmental footprint of plastics recycled from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

This database is available to producers and was created to support plans for integrating recycled plastics into new products. You can use it to measure the environmental impact of producing plastics from WEEE. With this freely available data, you can reliably compare recycled plastics with other materials and effectively choose your materials according to their environmental impact.

We’ve modelled three types of recycled plastics: PP, PS and ABS. These are the main types of plastics recycled from WEEE.

This database is geared specifically towards users of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) software. Integrating these new data into them allow to produce fast, reliable and representative modelling of plastics recycled from WEEE. These data are gradually being incorporated into life cycle analysis software to make them easier to use.

To ensure these data were indeed representative, ecosystem, with help from the different actors in the chain, modelled the plastics’ entire production process, from the collection points of the WEEE that contains them, through to their final recovery .
